Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral named after the region of Labrador in Canada where it was found in 1770. It is treasured for its remarkable play of color, which shows flashes of gold, blue, green, and the most rare, violet. This is caused by an effect called Labradorescence.

These particular strands are darker than usual. They are mostly dark grey and have a beautiful blue flash to them.
